It’s important for everyone to have a professionally drafted Will, one that you can be certain will be legally valid when you die, and achieves what you want it to do.

No matter how simple your affairs may seem or whatever age you are, a Will ensures that your wishes are set out clearly so that on your death your assets go to the people you want them to go to.  If you have young children, you can also appoint your own choice of guardians in your Will to look after them should you die before they reach 18.

Although a standard Will might meet the needs of a small number of people, most would benefit from the more specialist advise and planning provided by APS Legal & Associates.  This is because most people are not aware of the threats by Government and Local Authorities, or even certain family situations, to the assets that you have worked so hard to gain and which standard Wills may not protect against. What people think is normal or standard may not be!

We recommended that you review your will every 2 to 5 years. Your circumstances may have changed, or those of your executors or beneficiaries may have changed. Sometimes your wishes may not have changed, but the value of your assets and the law may have. It’s really important to ensure that your Will does exactly what you want it to do, and that you have taken advantage of various areas of flexibility within the law of tax and estate planning, and Trusts for protecting inheritance.
